Why are we Expanding?

The Need is Growing

1 in 44 children at age 8 across all racial, ethnic and socio-economic groups have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (2018 CDC), up from 1 in 68 children just a few years ago. We must meet this growing need in our community.

The Need is Unique

Families with special needs children need special educational facilities equipped with unique and specific features designed to achieve maximum performance and success by students and staff.

The Need is Challenging

Growing numbers of area families are constantly contacting The Key for service, but we are at maximum capacity in our existing facility.

How We Help...

We are the only non-tuition-based school funded solely by scholarships—including the State of Ohio Autism and Jon Peterson Scholarships. This is one of the many reasons parents choose Golden Key and is why we cannot fund our expansion out of revenue from tuition.

In the 2020-2021 academic year, scholarships from the state of Ohio covered $384,742 in services to prevent any family from paying out-of-pocket.

Please consider a gift to help us unlock the future and meet the growing need to provide an exceptional facility for truly exceptional children.

Google Classroom

The Golden Key utilizes the Google Classroom as its technology platform.

This HIPPA compliant and secure program allows for our students to have access to the appropriate education if a remote school is put in place. Each classroom is designated its own link to allow for teachers, therapist and intervention specialist to connect with families.

Please see your student’s teacher to receive the appropriate Google Classroom Link and your student’s Golden Key Email.

Note: A Golden Key Email address is required for each student at The Golden Key.
